When I planned my New York visit this spring, I came up with the idea to do a little, rather casual shoot there – since I am lucky enough to basically be able to do my job anywhere! One thing led to another and when I found the Metropolitan Building I was so dazzeled and impressed by the beauty & possibilities of this location amidst Queens, that my “casual shoot” became a littler bigger then intended: I soon found myself putting together the biggest shoot I’d yet planned!
I dreamt about a delicate & timeless bridal inspiration, with emerald & grayed jade tones (here’s a little snippet of my inspiration wall back then) and I’m so happy & proud looking at the images we created. Without the help of some amazing people this wouln’t have been possible though: First of all the fabulous, professional & super talented Ara of RockPaperScissors, who agreed to collaborate (I admit to doing a happy dance when I got her answer back) who literally worked magic, putting my ideas and vision to reality. Nicole Sievers & Stacy Pitt of Styles on B who devoted their talented & time to style our lovely model Lindsey, my darling Etsy find Charmaine of Everly Calligraphy, who made us beautiful & custom calligraphy.
Did I say that I loved working in the States & having all these great vendors at hand? I looooved it!!Also I’m so thankful to my dear colleague Helga Schaefer, former New Yorkian, who made a million phone calls, helped with her experience, contacts and pampered us at the shoot. She also introduced me to the wonderful designer Judd Waddell, who gave us some of his dream come true dresses for the shoot and brought me to one of New Yorks best bridal stores – Gabriella New York, where I literally flipped (while trying to remain calm & professional on the outside) when they agreed to lend me a Reem Acra dress!! Working on a holiday might be something I’d devote a second thought to next time, but I’m so glad I did it. I learned a ton and got to collaborate with these amazingly talented folks! I can’t thank each one of them enough and I really hope to be back someday for more collaborations. Actually I’m already looking at flights for next spring…!
So proud that this shoot has been featured in one of my favorite – the Magnolia Rouge Magazine and if you want to see more than this little selection of my favorites hop over to the lovely Hochzeitsguide.com and check out their beautiful feature! xx
