Oh, Paris. There are about a million reasons why they say Paris is for lovers and sweet Stephanie and Ben’s wedding is certainly one of them! Canadians themselves, Stephanie and Ben share a love for globe-trotting, so when it came to selecting a location to celebrate their special day, saying “I Do” in the City of Lights was perfect to share with their close friends and family.
Having worked at the same company for some time, it wasn’t until years later that they eventually met and fell in love. Together they traveled the world (how romantic!), including a previous visit to Paris where their love for cozy cafes, the smell of fresh bread and pastries, and extravagant outdoor gardens would eventually lead them back to celebrate their nuptials.
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Shangri-La Paris Hotel on a perfect summer day. The venue was chosen for its Parisian history, as former home of Napoleon Bonaparte’s grandnephew, Prince Roland Bonaparte. I fell in love with the extravagant Grand Salon ballroom featuring original chandeliers, a marble fireplace, and rich tones of gold and cream. Candles of different sizes and grandeur arrangements of white roses and hydrangeas by Villa Bret provided the perfect scene for a wedding fit for royalty.
Led by the cutest flower girl dressed in white, Stephanie walked down the aisle in her stunning Monique Lhuillier dress and amazing Fendi shoes. Following the ceremony, champagne and canapés were served as guests mingled on a charming outdoor terrace, overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Paris is always remarkable, but the stunning Shangri-La Paris Hotel and this amazing couple really made this trip extra special…
